Men's sterling silver ring with red stone.  Around the stone is "U.S. Army Air Forces/Freeman Field".  On one side is cast an American Eagle and on the other side is a pilot wing with "pilot" below and a P-38 image. Ring has been worn for a number of years and is in a hinged ring box.  A nice relic of a WWII aviator.  Freeman Field was a training base for WWII bombers and then for helicopters in 1944. At war's end, Freeman became the repository for captured German aircraft, some of which were buried there when the base closed.  Today several historical groups are searching for the buried aircraft!
