Original vintage 5x7" b&w glossy photo of an observation balloon with two observers in the basket. Extensive markings on the back to include a Minister of War rubber stamp, French text of the subject matter and in English: "British Somme front. Reconnaissance patrol balloon off for duty after the others are already in the air". Also in pencil: "Old type sausage balloon used for directing artillery fire". Very good; on small corner crease.
