RAF Museum Giffard Silver Medal

Beautifully struck silver medal, 1.75" dia. Giffard and his balloon on the front (unreadable artist initials on Giffard's lapel). Reverse also finely struck with RAF logo and a lovely wreath encircling the engraved text: "Henri Giffard/1825-1882/First flight of a powered airship/24th September 1852". English silver hallmarks on the edge (I think; difficult to read). Mint condition, housed in circular plastic case.
