Original real press photo, 7x9". Press release on the back introduces Jimmy DeSanto in the cockpit of a P-38 owned by Tom Matthews (left). DeSanto crashed his own airplane and parachuted to safety three days earlier and Matthews is lending his P-38 for DeSanto to fly in the Thompson Trophy Race. Release is dated 28 Aug 1947. Very good condition, one emulsion streak not affecting the image and light bottom margin wrinkles.
