Press Photo, German WWI Pilot Invents New Timken Bearing for WWII - 1943

Regular price $25.00

Original real press photo, 6x8".  Lengthy press release on the back identifies Martin Fleischmann as a WWI German observation pilot in this 1917 photo who immigrated to the U.S. in 1924.  In 1943 as head of the Timken Metallographic Lab, Canton, Ohio, he invented a new steel to be used in aircraft bearing production for WWII.  Release is dated 6 Aug 1943. Very good.
