Rare one-of-a-kind application form for the Ancient and Secret Order of Quiet Birdmen, typed entries and SIGNED BY PAUL MANTZ, July 30, 1948. Mantz was the colorful and dynamic movie stunt pilot until he died in the movie Flight of the Phoenix. This application was obviously never filed and it is unknown if Mantz was ever a member. The hangar designation is missing as are the sponsors names. Mantz lists approximately 9000 hours flight time and his first solo at March Field 1927. I can provide provenance as I acquired this document in the large collection of another southern California aviator.
