Large size (sight 10x12.5") photo, nicely double matted and framed to 16x18". This is one of the famous Mole photos of WWI. This one has text in the negative, left bottom: "The Human U.S. Shield/30,000 Officers and Men/Camp Custer, Battle Creek, Mich./Brig. Gen Howard Laubach Commanding". On the right bottom is "Copyright (symbol)/1918/Mole & Thomas/(address)/Chicago, ILL". This seems to be an actual vintage 1918 Mole & Thomas photo as I can see some emulsion reflection when viewed at an angle; I have not taken it out of the frame (dust cover pasted to reverse). Several wrinkles in the photo, likely from being rolled in a tube but generally good. Mat is excellent and frame needs a light re-touch. I have seen these priced at $300-500 but since I have not taken it out of the frame, I have priced this one much less.
