Early German Aviation Publication; Gustav Whitehead Article - 1901

Illustrirte Aeronautische Mittheilungen (Illustrated Aeronautical Communications), October 1901.  50pp, ilus, wrps, stapled, 9x11.5".  Two loose plates inserted: balloon ascension w/3 photos, collage of Spanish captive balloon photos.  Of great significance is an article with photo of Gustav Weisskopf (Whitehead) and his flying machine.  This could be one of the earliest references to this much-disputed flight claim.  About fair-good; spine partially split, back cover corner chip.
