Sepia tone 6.5 x 8.5" glossy photo of a Curtiss Condor Model 53 with insert portrait of famous aviator Clarence Chamberlin who signed in ink lower right. Chamberlin had a long, illustrious career promoting aviation and he is most famous for being the second to cross the Atlantic and the first to carry a passenger on that flight. In pencil on the reverse is "Dec 25, 1938/My first flight in a plane/From Curtiss Wright Airport, Baltimore, Md." Very good condition; one small corner bend lower right in margin.
