Autogiro Tested by Army - 1937

Vintage original press photo, 9x7", b&w.  Press release on reverse is titled "Wingless Autogiro is Latest".  Photo was taken at Bolling Field, D.C. before a flight to Langley Field for testing by the U.S. Army.  This model has no wings and is capable of 125 mph top speed, cruise at 100 mph.  I am at a loss to identify the exact model but it has three main rotor blades, an engine cowl and up-swept horizontal stabilizer.  Engine is running in the photo.  Release is dated 12/17/1935.  Very good.
