  • School of Aerial Photography Dance Card - 1918

     Pocket sized dance card, double folded, 6x4" open.  Outside as shown in photo at upper left, dated April 17, 1918.  Inside lists 20 dances (Fox Trot, One Step, Waltz; and four "extras").  The first 6 dances are trapped in ink to an "Evelyn Weil".  Included is an invitation of another dance, the "Aerial Ball" on Sept 14, 1918 (shown below in the photo at left).  All very good or better.

     Original photo of an enlisted man, inscribed in ink lower right: "Best Love, Bub".  Photo is 3x5", mounted on a 4x6" card.  On reverse of card is: "Very early RAF, still has RFC buttons on tunic and breeches". (Must have had xray eyes to see buttons on breeches!) Very good.

     Imperial War Museum postcard, British uniforms, 1914-1918 series No.12 :  "Royal Naval Air Service, 1914-1917".  The five portraits in uniform are identified below the painting.  Size is slightly larger than a standard postcard (4x6").  Very good, light corner bumps.

     Imperial War Museum card #2397 entitled:  "The N.C.O. Pilot, R.F.C. by Sir William Orpen, R.A."  Obviously sold at the Museum Store, undated but likely in the 1950s. Very good.
