This is the most outstanding photo/scrapbook album I have ever offered...and it is also brings a tear to your eye.  It concerns 2ndLt Peter Philip Renzo, B-24 Bombardier/Navigator who was killed when his aircraft was shot down near the Nove Zamky Marshalling Yards, Hungary, on 14 Mar 1945 at about 1:35 pm.

The album was likely assembled by his mother; it is 16x11" with leather covers having decals affixed.  It begins with his college days in 1943 and ends with 1949 telegrams regarding burial of his remains.  There are 82 pages filled with 110 photos, letters home, his insignia, MIA/KIA telegrams and letters (one from Gen Carl Spaatz), his ID cards, many news clippings and documents from Catholic Masses, even letters from families of his crew members also lost.  There is virtually nothing missing from this comprehensive record of two years of this young man's life in the USAAF.

The black card pages are chipping around the edges but the contents are largely intact.  What a wonderful tribute to one young man's ultimate sacrifice for his country's freedom.
