Manuscript letter in ink from Octave Chanute to George Francis Myers, dated Oct 12, 1906. Notepaper, 5.5 x 8.25", with Chanute's letterhead as Consulting Engineer. Text refers to an apparent inquiry by Myers to be involved in an exhibition by Chanute and Augustus Post, founder and first Secretary of the Aero Club of America. Chanute quotes Post as saying they do not need Myers' help with the exhibit. Chanute is well-known for his early aviation contributions, Myers less-so but he had a lengthy career as an experimenter and inventor of numerous helicopters, most not very successful. Good condition with normal age wear. Chanute letters and autographs are scarce.
