Miller, Francis Trevelyan.  The World in the Air, the Story of Flying in Pictures, Vol I and II.  First Edition, limited edition of 500, this being #294.  New York/London, G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1930.  4to (8.5 x 11.5"), Vol I 320p, Vol II 336p, over 1200 illustrations, signed by the author. But best of all are the autographs in volume I: HENRI FARMAN, first cross-country flight in Europe; LOUIS BLERIOT, first flight across the English Channel; GLENN CURTISS, American aviation pioneer; A. WHITTEN BROWN, navigator on the first trans-Atlantic flight; GEORGE HERBERT SCOTT, first trans-Atlantic airship flight; HUGO ECKENER, commander of the Graf Zeppelin; and CLAUDE DORNIER, pioneer German aircraft designer. (See photos below) Covers fair with some spotting and bumps, text very good, hinge repair by master bookbinder.  Only one other set available internationally at $3200.  This set much more reasonable.
