     Monthly WWII publication of the 36th Service Flying Training School (RAF), Alberta, Canada.  Seven issues each 24-36 pages, 6x9", photo illus; dates are Feb, Mar, Jul, Sep, Oct and Nov 1942; and Feb 1943.  About good; some cover soiling. Not often found in the U.S.

  • Class Book, No. 1 British Flying Training School, Terrell, Texas - circa 1943

     "Detached Flight...The Book of No. 1 B.F.T.S. Vol. VI". No publ place, no date.  72pp, photos.  Typical class book with staff photos (British and U.S. military; civilian flight instructors in uniform), portraits of students with several ink annotations of "killed", recreation activities, downtown Terrell, Texas, etc.  About good.  Most of these class books found in the U.S. are U.S.A.A.F. piot trainees; this is a very unusual book in that the trainees are all RAF.  Likely most of these ended up back in the UK.

  • WWII USAAF Electric Heated Clothing Instructions - circa 1944

    SKU: 21-UN-17

     Seldom seen tri-fold instruction sheet (5.5x9.5" closed, 16.5x9.5" open) printed both sides for the set of Electrically Heated Clothing, Army Air Forces Type F-3A. Opens with an illustration of the full set of components, then a listing of items, steps in preparing for flight, how to operate, warning to navigators and instructions for mounting adapter plugs. Included is a paper label which was inserted in the package containing the "Trousers; Flying, Electric".  This flight clothing set is very rare but if you happen to be lucky enough to have it in your collection, you really need this instruction sheet posted along side!  Very good condition.

     Inaugural newsletter published at Antique Airfield, Ottumwa, Iowa.  20pp, illus, 8.5x11".  Very good; mailed and returned.  The 6th Air Force was constituted in 1940 and was assigned in the defense of the Panama Canal.  This newsletter has reprints of articles from the begining of the 6th.
