• WWII Air Corps Recruiting Poster - 1942

    SKU: 21-POST-58

Full-size 25x38" poster showing B-17's above an aircrew in their A-2 leather flight jackets planning a mission.  Text below urges men 18-26 to apply for training as pilots, navigators and bombadiers.  Artist is Ivan Dimitri and printing date is 5-16-42.  But the best thing about this lot is the accompanying 3.5x5.5" real photo showing a soldier standing next to this very poster (on the right in the photo to the left)!  On the reverse is an ink inscription dating the photo to 9-6-42 in front of the Troy, N.Y. post office.  Both the poster and photo are very good.  Believe it or not, posters recruiting pilots, navs and bombadiers are not common.  (This item cannot be ordered in the shopping cart.  Inquire and an invoice will be sent)
