  • Howard Hughes Blimp - circa 1946

    SKU: 22-P-54

B&W 8x10" of the port side of Goodyear Blimp NC-33672.  In 1943 Hughes produced the Outlaw starring Jane Russell but due to censrship over her bust, the film was banned until Hughes concocted a public outcry over censorship.  Obviously, this blimp was used during that campaign to get the film released.  (You can Google the NC number and see the extensive text on the starboard side of the blimp).  Very good; rubber stamp "Printed by Whelan" on the reverse and 1946 date.
